    How much heat did you apply while in the furnace and for how long was the blank exposed?
    Are there any other physical tests that can be done such as oxide producing tests?

    It is brought up to a little over 1000F for an hour. There are multiple test that can be done but a lot of the time it's hard to be 100% positive. If the wording on the piece is strange you might want to do a little research on the company. If the company is no longer in existence, then you should do variety of tests on it. The best way to be certain is to send the silver to a refiner or assayer in order to be professionally tested. The only problem is that it is pretty pricey.
